Welcome, Bienvenue, Wilkommen, Benvenuto

Welcome, Bievenue, Wilkommen, Benvenuto - I'm happy you're here! This blog was a long time on my mind and finally, now it exists. Many people suggested I blog, but that it had to be about one thing. For anyone who might know me, well that's a practical impossibility. Thanks to the encouragement and inspiration of someone I've only known a little while but has had a profound impact on me, I came to realize I could blog about anything. So no, it won't be about Newport although it might come up. It's in the title because it's where I was born and it's a beautiful place. If you have never been there, I hope someday you get to visit.

As for the "storyteller" well, it's part of what I've been doing all my life, in many ways. It's a BIG part of what I'm working on now - writing, but I'd forgotten I done as a child....I used to write little books, ads or my own news articles. Getting to do it for real has been great but I'm hoping it will become super great. I'm hoping for many things, for me and for all of us. So thank you for the nudge I needed Lisa; this first post is dedicated to you.
